Will renaming of roads change anything in Goa ? will anyone apart from our soiled politicians profit from this,Then why only rename ,don't you think we should also demolish and vandalize the complete infrastructure built during the colonial era and rebuild all the roads and structures with renewed nationalistic pride ? lets demolish the secretariat, the statuettes, roads, the formidable patto bridges, forts, churches everything which smells of Portuguese and Moghul rule and have a new indian ambience....Will we do it? no we never will because one Nehru bridge fiasco is enough to shudder.......hypocrites that we are ! ... Goenkarano. tokli usaar korath..don't you'll think ..developmental plans, progressive strategies for goa and goans, better basic amenities, power, telecom, postal,employment facilities, ever increasing corruption, goondaism, nepotism, religious differences, better educational measures (medium of instruction malaise, how will konkani help our impressionable kids in schools...do you like to hear your lttle son/daughter mumble in broken English? konkani can always be picked up from parents at home but English is a pre-requisite during the formal years of growth)..crime-rate, suicide rates, dowry, vulgarity and indecency, beureacracy , deforestation, environment conservation, pollution, traffic jams and accident rates.....etc etc etc don't you'll think these factors should be our top most priorities then renaming streets !
