NRI Goa Facilitation Centre delegation to visit Bahrain

A delegation of the representatives of the NRI Goa Facilitation Centre will visit Bahrain 14th December 2003 in order to establish direct contact with the Goan Diaspora living in the Gulf countries and to acquaint them with the activities of the Centre. The Centre will identify the problems faced by Goans working in various countries of the world and recommend to the State Government.


The issues which falls under the purview of Central Government will be taken up with the relevant ministry. The Government of Goa is aware of the contribution that the NRIs are making for the economic stability of the State and would like to extend all such co-operation to strengthen their cultural roots in the soil of their ancestors. While the Government is not particular about their investments in Goa, it is willing to give all assistance and guidance to anyone who desires.



The delegation consists of: Chandrakant Keni, Chairman-NRI-Goa Facilitation Centre, Swapnil Naik, Nodal Officer, NRI-cell;Pramod Shetye, Managing Director - GTDC; and Antonio Correia Afonso. In order to accord a warm welcome to the delegation and participate in the deliberations that will follow, The Young Goans Club of Bahrain extends the courtesy to call on all Goans living in Bahrain to make it convenient to attend the meeting to be held at the Young Goans Club from 8:15 p.m. onwards on 14th December 2003. This is an opportunity for all Goans to interact and raise issues concerning NRI Goans and place them before the official delegation for due consideration and implementation.


All Goans living in Bahrain are requested to attend. The invitation is open and Club can accommodate large crowd. Hence prior intimation is not necessary. Gerry Fernandes of Mantech Computers in consultation of Young Goans committee Members has taken great efforts to make sitting arrangement, advertisement in the newspapers and Radio for those whom we cannot reach. The leaflets are printed and will be distributed in Church and Temple too.
