Prime Slots and Trancemedia has organized a lighting festival in Panaji from the 19th of December, to the 4th of January . The show has been named "Panjim Ablaze" and has the support of the CCP, Together for Panjim and a host of prominent individuals including architects journalists etc. The CCP will partake by lighting up prominent buildings in Panjim, which has been revitalized. State Bank of India has agreed to light up the Accounts Department building near the Secretariat (which houses its Secretariat branch), their Mandovi branch as well as their Treasury Branch on 18th June Road. Various other banks are in the process of confirming participation in this mega festival. Besides, local business houses have also chipped in to light up various other buildings in order to make it grand festival. To take the whole mood to the grassroots, there is a competition for the best lit houses as well as commercial establishments and shops so that the mood is not missed where it matters most.the local people. Mega prizes are being offered by various business houses in order to attract local participation and by preliminary reports, the participation looks like becoming a flood. Chowgule Real Esate Company has agreed to sponsor the top prize of Rs. 25,000/- to the best lit home. Besides, Focus Group has sponsored the complete Category II which is for shops and establishments. Prize money in this category totals Rs. 30,000/- To add to the excitement, various streets are being lit up with major arterial roads being taken up by various in order to increase the visibility of this mega event. The 18th June Road traders have got together to light up the prestigious road and the MG Road business people too, are chipping in to make the festival a successful one.
