Hi Frederick,

Greetings from Toronto, and a happy new year to you.

My name is Victor Martins. I am an international pianist and piano technician. I
am a Goan-my parents are from Graca de Chorao (Maddel). My parents and my two
sisters are here in Canada.

I read your e-mails every day. My daughter will finish her post graduate studies
next year. So, I am seriously thinking about re-locating to Goa for a while. I
have been informed that there is a serious shortage of trained piano technicians
in Goa. So I have been thinking about offering my professional services as a
U.S. trained certified piano tuner/technician, to piano owners in Goa. I could
also export good used pianos from Canada, that would be in knocked down
condition. I would re-assemble them in Goa, and they would cost a lot less than
the pianos that are being sold in Goa now. These are American and Canada made
pianos of very good quality, and far superior to the new Chinese made pianos
being sold in Bombay and elsewhere in India.

I am also keen to impart my knowledge to a few Goans who would like to take up
piano tuning/repair as a trade, so that they could keep pianos in Goa in good
tune.

However, I need to know about the customs policies in India, and the customs
duties that are imposed on imported items. Would you be able to help by letting
me have the e-mail addresses of the seaport customs office in Goa? Just in case,
I'd like their postal address too. I am a Canadian citizen. But since the Indian
Government proposes to grant dual nationality shortly, that might make things
easier.

I would appreciate hearing from you. Once again, thank you very much.

Yours sincerely,

Victor Martins

Happy holidays to Goanetters headed HOME !!
