Santosh,
Thanks for your honesty in clearing the air on you dropping a name, with
little more facts. But this does not make history! If you followed my
postings (and the point I was making) SFX was in India from 1542-1545,
traveling from Bassein to the Southern tip of India and North Ceylon to
Madras. He was not in Goa for the entire period (and he presumably
traveled by foot and bullock cart). And of course SFX was a rare visitor
after 1545.

Today, as I noted in my posts, every crime linked with the Portuguese
colonization is linked with the inquisition, (which in the interest of
historical accuracy was not there in 1543), every offense is linked to
the Catholic Church, and every misdeed before and after SFX is linked to
SFX. From his name, how did Mestre Geronimo Dias land in Goa? Did he
violate immigration laws? :=))) You inadvertently provided Filomena the
name she wanted of a Portuguese who was the victim of 'the supposed
inquisition'.

Hope we do not make SFX an issue between Hindus and Christians, whom he
served Goa and in India without distinction and with humility.
Regards, Gilbert

I honestly do not know whether SFX was involved in the incident or
not. I just stated a fact that I had learned about a month ago when I
read two articles on Goan medical history by S. K. Pandya and M. N.
Pearson. As far as the second question is concerned, Gilbert told us
that SFX was indeed in Goa during that time i.e. 1542 - 1545.
