Hi all, My name is Melinda Powell,I am a Goan,born and brought up in Bombay.My husband & I like Goa,so we decided to settle down here ,three years ago.We thought Goa was a healthy environment to raise kids(we have twin girls-7 yrs old),also we found Bombay getting too hectic and mechanical.
I used to work as an airhostess for 15 years,and I loved my job,cause I love travelling.At present,I am doing something totally different,I run a private playschool(10 kids only) in South Goa,and I enjoy watching young minds imbibe new things.I dont do any formal teaching,I merely channelise playtime constructively. I came across this website when I was researching for my M.A.,there was a very interesting article on the importance of the English language by Fredrick Noronha- thanks Fredrick,your input helped me. While I love Goa,I am concerned about issues like chaotic driving by fellow Goan drivers,corruption in Government offices,etc.We cannot be passive and just accept the system,we need to do something about it. I was hoping ,through this website,to make friends with like minded people.
