GOACOM DAILY NEWS CLIPPINGS 29 January 2004 ALL INDIA KONKANI MUSIC FESTIVAL: Beat of drums, ghumat, madhallem, tabla and other percussion instruments, melodies of Chris Perry, Alfred Rose, Pandit Jitendra Abhisheki and the likes, will echo at the EDC grounds at Patto, Panjim, during the two-day Second All India Konkani Music Festival to be held on 7 and 8 February 2004. Tomazinho Cardozo, the chairman of the reception committee told presspersons that the aim of the festival is to unite Konkani people all over India through the medium of music, which he said requires no script. The younger generation too needs proper exposure to Konkani music, Goa's art, culture and tradition, some of which is fast vanishing, he stated. (GT)
