Yes Cornel, I too on occassion have been 'overwhelmed ' by the welcome, and the friendliness, and I still get great pleasure in holidaying in goa. 'Bad' Or 'Deceitful' things do not happen there every day I know, but after around 20 visits, some a month long some six weeks, you see much more than the 'frolicking' on the beach, and the 'spaced-out hippies' of Anjuna. I guess you are not yet thinking of taking it up as your 'new home', which I have been contemplating.........................a real major step, I think you will agree. A fortnights boozing and romanticising ,( you can do that in Benidorm or mykonos ).is not quite the same as actually Living in a place, and 'Trying to assimilate into the 'culture', or at least trying to.
