Leaders who project themselves as caring are hoaxes. I want things right in Goa so I can enjoy my remaining days in peace and tranquility. And I do not intend to become a hermit. Selfish, because I do not work to alleviate troubles of others. I work to alleviate my own troubles regardless of others. And When I succeed, I know that others get what I get without working for it. And I do not mind. And I do not expect to be patted on my back either. Example: 1. I fought doggedly for peace from loud music madness for more than 20 years because it hurt my mental balance.. Goa now is quieter and peaceful than before. But lot is still to be done. Music is in Goa's blood. But I want to work for a compromise. Have MUSIC and have PEACE too at the same time. Solution? Proper soundproofed venues and strict control over Public address systems, especially funnel-speakers. When Goa Su-Raj comes to power, funnel speakers will be used only for the purpose they are designed for. Viz- to address the public. 2. Some days ago I wrote about the eye sore of Panjim which is the tying of empty ore barges at the Panjim Ferry Wharf. This was in response to Juino D'Souza's article in the Herald about beautification of Panjim City. I had indicted the Customs Authorities for this lapse as they forced the barge owners to park their empty barges for customs inspection thereby cutting down on the barge owner's turn-around time, therefore loss of revenue. Since last few days, I have noticed that no barges are tied at the Ferry Wharf. I may be wrong, but I feel that my message was well received. 3. I am just coming from an investigative trip to Mapusa Kadamba Bus terminus. I had noticed a lot of excavating going on at the Mapusa Taxi Stand end of the Terminus. They tell me that the Government is putting up a row of shops and the masonry work is on. As it is the Kadamba Bus Stand was an eye sore with no place for the buses to park. I called the PDA Chairman who is also the Law Minister, Mr. Francis D'Souza a few minutes ago to confirm what I have seen. Yes he said, we are shifting the line of shops on the road. And we will be extending the Bus stand towards the field opposite Mapusa service station ( Carvalhos Petrol pump) where presently it is the watermelon market. According to me, the extension should have been done first rather than the shops. This is election time and the shopkeepers must be unloaded of their booty. It is Mapusa Shining.
