I would like to add that Cologne is spelt and prononced as 'Koeln' by the Germans themselves. Hamburg is called 'Hamburgo' in Spanish (with a silent 'H') and Munich is called 'Muenchen' by the locals!!
These are internationally known German cities. If they can manage with variations in the spelling of their names, why can't we?
In almost any country, specially those that were once colonised, you will find variations in the way a city name is spelt. As long as it does not cause any major problems I feel we should let it be. There is a richness in diversity.
