Hi all, I need some suggestions on how to proceed ,in procuring garbage disposal facilites for the village I live in. We have no bins,the only bin at the entrance of our village,was knocked down,in order to construct new traffic islands.Due to lack of facilities,the villagers are throwing garbage in a stream,which is getting choked with plastics. On Feb 2nd,(Idd holiday),I got all the children of our village together,and organised a village clean up campaign.I sent in a photo(children holding placards) and article which was published in the Herald a week ago.I also organised a signature campaign ,addressed to the Panchayat and to the Margao Muncipal Council,to request the authorities to take action. We are 2 kms away from Margao city,so the MMC says that it is not their responsibility. The Panchayat here is ineffective. Any ideas on how to proceed from here?
