Of all the floats at the Carnival parade, one which drew attention in Panjim, Margao and elsewhere was the one depicting Goa's traditional occupations. In particular, it focused on the work of the village baker of the humble "poder", who for long took care of part of the food needs of this region. (Edit in Herald) OUR DAILY BREAD: Pao-crazy Goans are sore over the fact that their staple food has been caught up in spiraling inflation and that the bakers and the Government alike have failed to find an amicable solution to the same.
