Margao police in a swift action nabbed the alleged accused, Camilo Borges following a complaint lodged by the victim�s mother. He has since been remanded to four-day police custody by a local court here.
Margao PI Prabodh Shirwaikar informed that the alleged incident occurred when the victim girl was playing outside her house at around 3.30 pm on Tuesday. Both her mother, a fish vendor and father were out of the house.
The accused stays around 100 meters away from the victim girl�s house. Incidentally, both the girl and the minor son of the accused used to always play together, the police said. Shirwaikar said the accused allegedly accosted the minor girl to his house � when his wife and son were out, and allegedly committed the offence.
The victim narrated the incident to her mother later in the evening and she was hospitalised at Hospicio hospital. The police said the accused has been arrested under section 376 of IPC and section 8 of the Children�s Act.
