NDTV 24 X 7- "THE BIG FIGHT" - 28 Feb 2004. As far as possible, I have made it a point to place myself in front of the TV screen on Saturdays at 8 pm to see Rajdeep Sardesai in action with "The Big Fight" and his punches and counter punches and the finishing punch being delivered in acute precision. Yesterday, I didn't want to miss seeing the Master Opportunist Mr. Arif Mohamed Khan bleeding from his shameless nose, trying to duck the endless punches delivered by Teesta Setalvad of 'Communalism Combat' on the one side and Rajdeep Sardesai on the other side. I shall talk less of the Congress fighter in the ring who did some overtime with his Adams apple trying to defend the Congress rather than deliver the punches. And I shall not talk about the Senior Pro BJP-RSS Journalist who tried hard to goad on his newfound BJP defender and clean up the mess which was Arif Mohamed khan between rounds.
And I had always wanted to see what stuff Teesta Setalvad was made of as a person in action, having had umpteen opportunities to read her writings. And I can say that no knife or a sword or even a trishul for that matter can be more sharper than her rapid firing tongue. "Well done indeed -Teesta Setalvad" You left the ring victorious and unchallenged. I was restless and wanted to puke several times when Arif Mohamed Khan was trying to defend his move to embrace the BJP. "They have extended a hand of friendship and understanding to the Muslims and we should take it" he was repeating continuously meaning the BJP-RSS combine. "And I have decided to accept this as against eternal enmity and conflict . What harm is there?" Well, well, Mr. Arif Khan! You must remember just one thing. When the Hindutva trishul has done the ultimate job on your gloated throat, and when your fattened carcass is lying in the gutters of this newly found friendship, your own people will be spitting on it. A viper is a viper, it only knows to stike. And it can never harbour feelings of love and affection towards non vipers. That is your Swayamsevak Vajpayee and the rest of the gang. And when you be gurgling and frothing blood from your gored fat throat and wanting to die, Teesta's words will be doing the re-run in your peanut brains with deafening clarity. "Justice first, then dialogue towards understanding" "India will shine despite the BJP" "You should have first agreed to the dialogue before jumping in on the BJP Band Wagon" And Rajdeep's clear words "You have portrayed yourself as an opportunist and nothing else" Vajpayee may be considered as a traitor unto the constitution of India. He saw to it that Narendra Modi was unharmed and safe inspite of the genocide in Gujarat of the worst kind. Then he goes on to bash the Muslims in his speech in Goa. Then, when he attended the funeral pyre of the sant in Ayodhya, he went on to pronounce that the Ram Temple will be built, no matter what. And now, on the eve of the General Elections when he finds that his gang members are flopping and wearing off the artificial and immoral shine off the BJP, he embraces the likes of Arif Mohamad Khan in the BJP and wants the world to believe that Hindus and Muslims are Bai Bai ?? He has the gall we never believed the Prime Minister of India would have. Teesta Stalvad coundn't have been more right. These guys stink. Even hypocrites would do better than that. And the blame lies squarely on the Congress Party of India for foisting these uncouth and shabby power seeking communals on this great Country.
