Bombay Boyswin XIV Navelim Youth Centre Rolling Trophy Kuwait: Bombay Boys demonstrated their supremacy in the current season when they trounced United Goans Centre (UG) 3-0 in the final of the coveted XIV edition of Navelim Youth Centre Rolling Trophy Football Tournament played under the auspices of Kuwait Indian Football Federation (KIFF) at Sour Grounds. Bombay Boys had little trouble brushing aside the challenge of United Goans despite the latters spirited game. Striker Noufal Mofra scored the opener 15 minutes into the first half shooting home from just outside the box after dribbling past a host of UG defenders. United Goans came breathtakingly close to drawing level when striker Joseph Salema got on to Francisco's cross but his effort was pushed out by the active Jose Fernandes under the Bombay Boys bar. UG squandered another glorious chance after Martin Rebello was fed by play-maker Lucian DSouza inside the penalty area but Bombay Boys defenders Prashant Kunder and Agnelo D'Souza closed in to bottle him before any damage was done. Bombay Boys skipper Roy Lewis as usual was impressive throughout the match combining well with Noufal and mid-fielders Braulio Rodrigues and man of the match Lawrence Oliveira for some organized and sharp attacks. Noufal increased the score to 2-0 off a cross by Jose Calado from the right. United Goans pressed hard to score in the second half and Joseph Salema should have done better when played in by Lucian but he shot wide from close range off his strong foot. Bombay Boys' winger Derrick Fernandes created the opening for the third goal with a run in from the touchline and a beautiful curving cross behind the UG defence. Roy arrived at the ball a fraction ahead of the UG goalkeeper and elegantly tapped it in the goal to make it 3-0. The match was officiated by KIFF referee Faisal Saleluddin assisted by Julio Cardoso and Eric Almeida on the lines. Inacio Faleiro, Managing Partner of Express Bridge Cargo was the Chief Guest and spoke on the occasion.
