(WE-GT) FISH CAUGHT IS NOT SUFFICIENT: There has been a decline in the fish catch over the last three years and it has been going down year after year. This year also the fishing community in the state witnessed a fall in the fish catch particularly the fish consumed by Goans, like sardines, mackerels, pomfret-of both the varieties-and even king fish. Much of the fish that comes to Goan fish markets is from neighbouring Karwar. I would say that the fish caught by Goan fishermen is not sufficient to meet the local demand.
