WildGoa Event: Birding at Porvorim! After a long break, Southern Birdwing will organize its next "WildGoa" trip to Porvorim Plateau & Pilerne Wetlands. The spot is quite picturesque, and many Goans are quite unaware of its existence. Birds that we hope to see are at Porvorim include the Blossom-headed Parakeet, Purple Sunbird, Small Green Bee-eater, or even the beautiful Greater Racket-Tailed Drongo, while at Pilerne we hope to see the Painted Snipe, Pond Heron, and possible the rare Painted Stork, besides the regular water birds like egrets, plovers,& paddybirds here. Butterflies like the Blue Tiger, Common Crow, Crimson Rose and the Common Mormon are also easy to spot. So wake up early, and being along pair pf binoculars and a bird book if you have one.
