The matter figured at the monthly general body meeting of the Forum on March 28 wherein members pointed out that the bridge is the only way for the residents of Aquem-Baixo, Firgulem, Shantinagar, Gantamorod, Mandopa, Cotoc and other places along with the Margao-Sanvordem route.
One member drew attention of the Forum about the absence of any board
with the notice of closure of the bridge. It was pointed out that the informative
boards which are presently put up giving the directions of routes to be used
are very vague and confusing for the motorists.
The meeting unanimously stated that the decision to close down such a busy and important link on the State highway was taken without any thought or concern for the common man.
