A European friend of mine is doing research on answers in different cultures to the question all children ask their parents "Where do babies come from?".

From the classic picture of a Stork bringing babies neatly wrapped in a bundle tied with a coloured ribbon (of Dutch origin I believe) to "Under A Gooseberry Bush" (British) to "From the Doctor's Bag" we have various explanations in different countries and cultures.

"Inside Cabbages" (French), "Inside Beer Mugs", 'From Spaghetti Tins" (Italian), "They're made from Clay" and something as ridiculous as "Mummy Has To Eat Sausages Until She's Really Fat, And Then The Baby Pops Out"

Does anyone know of any traditional, Indian in general and Goan in particular, explanations for children on where babies come from?
