I agree with you in toto. We have to accept reality, not try to undo
history.

Wrote Gandhiji, " The principle of 'an eye for an eye' will only make the
whole world blind."  How true.

The difference between 'oral' history and 'written' history  is just that.
Both forms are open to 'revision' once the person is dead or the book is out
of print. Besides, our Minister for HRD has argued that even historians have
their bias. If Adil Shah or Shiraj-ud daulah had emerged victorious, history
of India might have been told/written differently. We might have found
mosques under temples and temples in Churches and so on. Crusades were
fought for the possession  of the last resting place of the meek and the
humble Jesus Christ who could, BUT DID NOT, prevent his crucifixion. Jihads
are no different; neither is this parivartan. There is no turning back on
history unless we want to go back to the stone age...and there was no known
religion then...definitely not hinduism, which does not have any reference
to creation or evolution of man.
