Gilbert, Please don't apologize. All you have to do is tell us from where you got your historical "facts". I submit that you lifted those facts (and embellished them) from the following internet article without referring to it or giving any credit to the author: http://culture.konkani.com/Historical/515_Bicentenary_of_th.htm Please read that article again. It is a much more balanced view than what you are selling us. Your statement that 30,000-80,000 Mangaloreans were "massacred" or "killed" by Tipu Sultan is a total fabrication. Furthermore, these atrocities of Tipu Sultan are disputed by others (e. g. by Praxy Fernandes) as disinformation by the British who were fighting against him. I submit that you have completely misrepresented the above episode, and have added embellishments of your own in your previous post. That is why I think you are propagating unsubstantiated and fabricated facts. It is historical revisionism at its best or at its worst, depending on your perspective. I hope you can prove me wrong. Cheers, Santosh ########################################################################## # Send submissions for Goanet to [EMAIL PROTECTED] # # PLEASE remember to stay on-topic (related to Goa), and avoid top-posts # # More details on Goanet at http://joingoanet.shorturl.com/ # # Please keep your discussion/tone polite, to reflect respect to others # ##########################################################################
