GOAN BASIL GONSALVES �DART�CHAMP IN KUWAIT.
In the recently concluded Dart tournament at Hotel Crown Plaza (Holiday Inn), for Men�s single, Basil Gonsalves came out victorious by defeating Joven Florentes (Pilipino). Mr. Gonsalves earlier before coming to Kuwait spent his time in Bahrain where he also excelled in Carom and won innumerable championships in individual category. He hails from Goa at a scenic village Divar. Those who participated in this tournament were of different nationalities and diverse communities while Basil was the lone participant from Goan community. There are 13 Dart Clubs in Kuwait and they are having regular games.
Basil Gonsalves is not the only renowned sportsman in the family; his son Marc and daughter Krystal are also well known sportspersons back home in India. While Marc plays Hockey for Union Bank of India in Mumbai daughter Krystal represents Mumbai Junior in soccer.
On behalf of all my like minded Goans who share my feelings towards the good achievements of our community members, I congratulate Basil for flying the banner of Goans high in Kuwait. Basil Gonsalves made Goan community proud in Kuwait.
