The criticism of Aires Rodrigues on this forum, in my opinion is a cheap shot.
While we can bark and bay at the moon from far, give the man his due. He came back to the Goa he loves and is waging a lonely fight against all the political ills. While he may have supported the BJP in the beginning, for whatever reason, he decided that they were not what he expected, and exposes what he feels are their misdeeds. He is no sycophant, and he has the guts to speak out. I dont agree with everything Aires says or does, like his opposition to helmets for motorcycle riders, as an example. But he does more for Goa than those who choose to stay abroad and shed crocodile tears. In typical Goan crab fashion, we are trying to discredit the man by alleging misdeeds in Toronto or wherever and trying to analyze his motives in returning to Goa. How low can one sink in this malicious attack on Aires ?
