Asians - especially Indians and Pakistanis (For Pakistan even worse after 9/11)- are not treated well all over the world especially the West, but I was surprised to read this happens in the UAE too. What hurts most is how difficult it is to obtain a normal visit visa to travel abroad - including travelling to India. The reporting at the police station (CIA center) aggravates one the most when travelling to India or vice versa. Why can't the two governments put their heads together and find a simpler way for reporting - say when one enters the airport or do away with the reporting system totally. A whole day is wasted going through this procedure. The people in the West do not face such hardships. Which shows they are superior to the Asians, no hitches for them for travelling to any part of the world. Is this not racial discrimination?? Yet you find so many Asians immigrating to greener pastures in the West. Some seem to be happily settled while others are forced to live there with no choice. The biggest problem they have to face is the cultural change from East to West. But the real benefit is good education, clean surroundings, quality control, good transportation, etc. no burden of aids/loans from foreign institutions like us and corruption free government! Mrs.T.
