Dear Sir,

India is still shining. Our beloved Bharat Mata, that is, not the fascist
India which the RSS and its political wing, the BJP was trying to establish.

The decision of the people of India in the Lok Sabha elections, decisively
and conclusively proves that the citizens of this great country have their
heads and their hearts in the right place. The people of India have
emphatically rejected the politics of social divisiveness based on creating
hatred between religious and social groups. The people of India have
rejected a political party which was only the political front of a sinister
social movement - the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh - which is guided by the
perverse ideology of Veer Savarkar, The politics of hatred as propagated by
Hedgewar and his henchmen like Praveen Togadia, Narendra Modi, and others
was bound to tear this country apart. The stage was set for a national
pogrom, modelled on the State sponsored terrorism of Narendra Modi's
Gujarat.

The "common man" who is often depicted as ignorant and uneducated, has
shown, once again, that he is politically astute and socially mature.
Along with the BJP, he has also rejected the lunatic politicians such as
Tamil Nadu's Jayalalitha, who thrived on the utterly obsequious and
humiliating obeisance of her followers.

While the results of the Lok Sabha elections have given us a reason to
"Feel Good", we still have a long way to go to restore in our politics a
spirit of tolerance, of respect for differences of opinion, and, most of
all, a respect for the Rule of Law. The people of Goa, specially, need to
redouble their efforts to oust the autocratic and undemocratic government of
the BJP headed by Manohar Parrikar. Our task has only just begun.
