A group of four girls and five boys working with SB Enterprises, a private firm employed by ICICI bank for recovery purposes, were on a picnic to Anjuna. Sameer and Pravin ventured into the rocks located a couple of metres inside the sea for clicking a photograph. While they were deeply involved with the camera, the duo was pulled in by the waves lashing on the rocks. The formal decision is expected to take place next week. (H) STRANGULATION RULED OUT: The dust raised over the alleged murder of hotel receptionist Raghuvir Alias Prasad Naik of Calangute settled down temporarily after Deputy Inspector General of Police Muktesh Chander assured the relatives of the deceased and the villagers that the cause of death would be decided only after the viscera report was received from Hyderabad. Sources stated that the post mortem report prima facie ruled out strangulation, and injury to any internal organs of the body. (GT) SANCOALE VP STAFFER DISMISSED: Sancoale panchayat on Friday dismissed its staffer Jayant G Naik from service for insubordination. According to sarpanch Premnand Naik, Jayant had refused to drive the panchayat ambulance to transport the patients to hospital despite his undertaking with the panchayat some years back to drive the ambulance in addition to his original posting as supervisor. Earlier it was IT professionals, now it is nurses," says Dr DK Baluja, Medical Superintendent, Jaipur Golden Hospital, New Delhi. "As of today, by conservative estimates along, there is a shortfall of about one lakh nurses in the US. Other countries like UK, Canada and Australia are likewise affected," says Ravi Mittal, Director (Operations) MEPCO, a manpower recruitment organisation. According to Kulkarni, the BJP is expected to get between 214 and 234 seats, while an equal number is likely to be won by the Congress and other parties opposing the BJP. The astrologer has forecast that Shripad Naik will win by a margin of a minimum of 62,000 votes, while Ramakant Angle will be victorious with a minimum of 16,000 votes.
