XAVIER'S TOPS GOA UNIVERSITY RESULTS Students of St. Xavier's College have done extremely well in the University Exams and secured First Rank for TYBA, TYBCom and TYBSc, 2004 exams. Indeed, it is for the first time that students of these 3 streams have bagged first position in Goa University results, in this College or any other college in Goa. Ms. Yolanda Lobo and Ms. Ramona Soares obtained the first position in TYBCom with 538 marks each out of 700. Ms. Trupti Chodankar secured the Third rank for the same exam with 533 marks out of 700. Last year also, two students from our College had shared the First rank and secured Third rank too. Ms. Yolanda Lobo is the daughter of Mr. Francisco Lobo and Ms. Patty Lobo from Calangute. She is a distinction student throughout her academic career. She has participated in several contests and her performance has been always extremely good. She is going to pursue a career in Management at Goa Institute of Management Studies for which she has already been selected. She wants to specialise in Finance. Ms. Ramona Soares is a very popular sportswoman and has represented the College in many sports disciplines. She is the daughter of Mr. Roque Soares and Ms. Elsa Soares from Caranzalem. She takes active part in cricket, table tennis, basketball and handball. She intends to become a Company Secretary. Yolanda and Ramona represented the College at the South Indian Level Business Contest ACME 2003 held in Mangalore and were exposed to what is happening elsewhere in India. Ms. Trupti Chodankar is very hard working student and hails from Colvale and is the daughter of Mr. Dinanath Chodankar and Ms. Pushpavati Chodankar. Her hobbies include reading, gardening and tailoring and she aspires to be Company Secretary. Ms. Natasha Braganca secured First Rank for TYBA obtaining 557 marks out of 700. Her specialisation papers were Economics and Psychology. She is the grand daughter of the famous poet Nascimento Mendonca. She is the daughter of Mr. Roy Braganza and Ms. Halina Braganca and hails from Mapusa. She was born in Berlin and has just proceeded to Dubai where she received the news of her excellent performance with great joy. She plays the keyboards with a rare perfection and is the member of the family singing group. Ms. Faminda D'Souza had the privilege of securing First Rank with 618 marks out of 700 at the TYBSc examination with specialisation in Computer Science. Her performance has been constant at Distinction level throughout her academic career just like Natasha. She is the daughter of Mr. Francisco D'Souza and Ms. Eudes D'Souza from Calangute. She is proactive and was crowned as MISS XAVIER for the year 2003-2004. This is an extraordinary event where there has been a convergence of ranks at St. Xavier's. All these 5 students attribute their success to hard work, God's grace, parents' guidance and teachers' support.
