WOW, who are you to send me your views on what I forward to Goa Net?

That got you, din't it Mz? It was meant to. Snugness and misplaced (over-) confidence) has to be treated with trauma-teraphy at first signs before it turns terminally despicable.

I thought I was giving my comments to Goa Net. You surely are not Luis S.R. Vas..

Who is the worthy gentleman, Luis S. R. Vas (perchance, not Vaz?). Please do introduce.

Re publishing; I paid $35 for a book by an Indian author that cost only
Rs.200 in India. My journalist friends in Mumbai vouch for the low cost of books
in India.

The information provided you by your journalist friends can be both fair and faulty:
the former, could be bought at sales, or on pavement-bargains, secondh. Latter: journalists, the accredited ones, hardly ever buy books; they get them at release functions, or having missed them (the function), one rings the publisher and a copy is posted home.

Re publ: The low cost books are the "best-seller" candidates, that are produced en masse, their cost-of-production being relatively insignificant. Add to this the prospective A, B, movie deals, Tv soaps, and the like, and they are quite another kettle-of-fish than a science-related work that has got to be publishd privately (through academic institutions/afforts) and thus can expect little more sale than to libraries, the said institutions and to the rarefied few "all and sundry..." like I, Singhbal, even, perhaps Rico, and such... Rather liked that a-and-s., if that is belonging to the snobs' "rif-raf"; have always gloried in the distinction, to the disgust of many a upturned-nose lady...

May be in a socialist country like Sweden, paying $45 is nothing to fret about.

Sweden ... socialist? You are way off course of actual reality, lady. Socialism, granted, once a dream of Sw dreamers has long since dissipated and gone to dogs: i.e., dog-life in S. is princely oppulent and that of princess tending towards well...not quite pauperish. Bilbo, my dog lives like Ali Khan, and I, well least said, perhaps, best or what eh as Wooster would have enquired of Jeeves. Put it plainly, 45 US
is hardly peanuts to us any longer.

That was my opinion re the synopsis--writing a synopsis is an art.

Indubitably my dear, but unhealthilly opinionated; about the art bit you are right; but is'nt art/beauty in the eye/heart of the beholder. I have heard your neo-countrymen exclaim in disgust after a glance at Mona Lisa, in the Louvre "is that it?")

NOTE: It would be appreciative if Goa Net did not forward readers' views to all and sundry Thank you.

I commiserate with you, my dear! But without the a-and-s how would Goa Net ever breathe? Raison d'etre my girl. Your frustration vs G.N. remind me of how Papa Doc was wont to fulminate at the admonisments meted out him by Human Rights' Watch and such against his paternality vs. his Haitian a-and-s.

Allow me to guess what your answer to this harrangue from your uncle bob will be: I am not your dear ... I AM NOT YOUR GIRL... Certain characteristics never fail., or, what ...eh--eh, Jeeves?

And, you sound as if you were familiar with the species "paparazi" Are you one? If not, beware of them. They have been known lead innocents astray.

Your of all-and-sundry,
Alfred de Tavares,
No-longer-socialists Sweden, 2004-06-10
