GOA GOVERNOR REFUSES TO MEET RIBANDAR DELEGATION Goa Governor Kidar Nath Sahani today (June 12) refused to meet a delegation of Ribandar residents who had come to Raj Bhavan to oppose Goa Government's decision to rehabilitate the Baina based sex workers at Ribandar though a prior appointment was given. The delegation, led by Ribandar based social activist Adv. Aires Rodrigues and accompanied by Local MLA Mrs. Victoria Fernandes and municipal Corporator Domingos Pinto, was stopped by a strong police force that barricaded the road to Raj Bhavan near NIO. The over 100 police contingent was led by North Goa SP Mr. Sharad Agarwal As the delegation insisted on going to Raj Bhavan a representative of the Governor came to the main gate of Raj bhavan and received the memorandum on behalf of the Governor from the delegation. Meanwhile local MLA Mrs. Victoria Fernandes and Adv. Aires Rodrigues have strongly condemned the behavior of the Governor Kidar Nath Sahani in refusing to meet the delegation though a prior appointment was given. Adv. Rodrigues has further stated that a meeting of Ribandar residents will be held on Sunday 13th June at 10 am at the Sharda Hotel hall, near Chorao ferry wharf at Ribandar to chalk out a plan of action to vehemently oppose Goa Government's decision to rehabilitate the Baina based sex workers at Ribandar. * * *
