Folks, If you walk around the countryside of South Goa, you will come across 14 foundation stones of new bridges and roads, all laid last year to mark the birthday of a certain Mickky Pacheco, and all therefore bear his name in gold letters. The problem is that none of the works were started, and some of the foundation stones have already been broken. What is worse is that the Minister is also passing into oblivion. The stones remind me of Shelleys poem- Ozymandias, which many of us learnt and enjoyed in school, many moons ago............... "My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings: Look upon my works, ye Mighty, and despair!" Nothing beside remains. Round the decay Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare The lone and level sands stretch far away regards, Gilbert Menezes.
