ABOUT THIRTEEN years ago, my wife decided to spend
Christmas in Goa. This was our first visit, but we
resolved then and there to spend the rest of our lives
in Goa. On visiting Divar quite by chance, we were
immediately captivated, both by the natural beauty
and the architecture of the island. We took many
photographs and I planned, on returning to London,
to find out as much as I could about Divar. Having
visited the library at the British Museum, the
repository of all knowledge, I was horrified to find
little or nothing to be had that would have thrown
more light on this enchanting place.
