Could some Goan in the UK who is not involved in
selling red mercury visit this exhibition and tell
this list all about it. I believe this exhibition
could harness some information about Goa in the past.

A new show at London's Victoria & Albert Museum,
"Encounters: The Meeting of Asia and Europe 1500-1800"
(through December 5), explores the vibrant exchange of
art, technology, ideas and luxury goods that resulted
from his voyage. More than 200 exhibitsincluding
paintings, tapestries, jewelry, furnishings and
mapstrace what is essentially the conjoining of two
worlds. Each carefully selected work tells an
enthralling story all its own: the Fonthill vase is
the earliest recorded piece of porcelain to reach
Europe; a chair made out of the remains of an
elephant, once the pet of Emperor Maximilian IIan
ill-fated gift he received in Austria in 1552.
