Death from Malaria! New tool developed on Goan cyberspace. If you can't attack the disease, Attack the messenger. :=)) Since the above does not apply to JC's post, I re-looked at what I wrote. Here it is: "Many will express their sympathy at the funeral and in academic corridors. I hope however that this sentiment translates into action to spur the government and local citizens to do something about mosquitoes and malaria. Both these problems have been solved in the civilized world. There is no reason for Goa and India to be continued to be plagued by them." Analysis: In fact, I am putting Goa and India in the civilized world category and making a positive statement that "there is no reason" they should be continued to be plagued by mosquitoes and Malaria. It appears that some GoaNetters would want to classify these places as "under-developed" world. The latter in my view is an insult to Goa ani Panaji. I think! Either I don't understand this or some are showing a herd-instinct of following Senhor RKN. Either way, this is not as important as fighting those pesky critters ani parasites and a potentially fatal illness. So here is my correction to those who think /insists the above should call Goa and India under-developed rather that uncivilized (which DOES NOT APPEAR in the original sentence). I hope this does not generate aniek round of English terminologies. Though it would be fun! I'll then have to write it in Konglish ani/ or Hinglish ani tea bhair in amchi bhas.:=)) You know, I am very good at this and do it so well. :=)) Regards,
