Women drivers "dithering"? "Denting their cars?" I couldn't help responding to Cecil's last question in his mail. (Goanet Vol. 1559) The only scratches/dents on my car were those caused by my sons - supposedly trying to overtake, or squeeze into impossible parking slots, or driving aggressively. As a rule, women prefer to avoid difficult parking rather than injure their cars. Do not generalise. For every few women who "dither" there are hundreds of men who "Bulldoze". Thanks FN, for sizing up the situation Charlotte Alvares Frederick Noronha(FN)" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> On Sun, 17 Oct 2004, D'Souza, Avelino wrote: > In Kuwait we have to keep extra safe distance and be on the LOOKOUT for > WOMEN drivers, TAXI drivers and VANETTE (Pickup) drivers. My friend Avelino and good friend Cecil's responses just reflect part of the Goa male chauvinism that dominates our debates. Women may have been=20 late learners (in some parts of the globe) when it came to drive, but=20 aren't they more careful and cautious? Weren't we reading a story recently=20 on insurance premia rates (and why these should have been lower in the=20 case of women) or something like that? A deliberately provocative FN (who means it!) -------------
