5 Nov. 2004. Manchester Evening News. Runway collision one week after warning. A collision between two jets at Manchester Airport came just a week after a report highlighted fears of safety of planes on the ground. No-one had serious injuries - ten people were treated for minor whiplash. Passengers checking in today for their re-scheduled flight to Goa this afternoon told how a chaplain was drafted in to help people suffering from stress. The 263 passengers who boarded an Excel flight to Goa were put up in hotels around the airport for the night while accident examiners inspected their damaged aircraft.
