Hi Rene, If you are interested in promoting this Goan writer as well as others here is a suggestion: When you as well as the multitude of Goan Associations scattered all over the globe hold your Annual Goa Day you could buy copies of books by these writers and give them away as prizes for competitions. Like other prizes these could be financially supported by a sponsor. And long with the umpteen number of pickles, recheio, para and bolinhas that are sold at these events maybe you could sell these books too with some young literary kid who has read all the books of course (that might be hard to find!!!) holding forth in the booth. This would give the writers a great deal of exposure not only with older Goans who attended the BLAST in Toronto but also with the younger kids. Like with everything else literature is a personal taste - people can choose between Bebinca or Ben. My second suggestion is that Ben's fans can donate a few copies of his books to the libraries of village schools in Goa. That's after the readers have made sure its kid safe! If not then there is the Panjim library soon to move to Patto. As for as I am concerned I am content to read Fred's or other critiques on Goan literature that appear on the goanet and make a decision about whether I want to read the book or not. --Helga do Rosario Gomes > > I have TEN Books * Images of Goa * sent to me by Ben Antao. > They are for sale here in London at the cost of Pounds Ten. each. > > Are YOU really interested in supporting GOAN WRITERS ? > Then ....Join the The Goan International Writers Workshop : > http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TheGoanInternationalWritersWorkshop/ > >
