Tariq--

I stand by my statement. Obviously there are others like you who do not agree with the president's actions. The remarks were for their benefit not meant exclusively for you although I could have expressed myself better.

We do live in a dangerous world as recent events in the Netherlands have recently demonstrated (the murder of Theo van Gogh by a Muslim immigrant and the arrest of eight islamic radicals--I am not making this up, it is reported in the weekend WSJ). And what was Mr. Van Gogh's crime? He was a radical libertarian, a champion of free speech who refused to be constrained by taboos or social codes. And the Netherlands prides itself in being a liberal and tolerant country with no irons in the Iraq fire. I can also recall the fatwa against Salmon Rushdie because some mullahs didn't like his book. We have discovered AlQaeda terror cells in this country also. I reiterate, we have to stand behind our president in these difficult times and you should admit your statement that GWB should be president of Afghanistan or Iraq was unnecessarily provocative and mean spirited, just as my statement might have been to you. Kerry didn't know whether he was coming or going like a weatherwane, and the American electorate wisely saw through it, despite enormous sums poured into his propaganda campaign by the likes of George Soros, Michael Moore, etc. And his purported support by a majority of Arab/Muslims did not augur well for the war. That is my opinion. You may not like it, but I am entitled to it and people on your side could engage in namecalling--that is nothing new, when one runs out of reasoned discourse, liberals usually bring out the vitriol. If we had not gone into Iraq, Saddam would still be in Iraq tormenting his people and would be an incubator for terrorists with designs on this country.

I did in fact write at some length to you. Probably got lost in transmission Shall try to retrieve it. However there was no apology there--just the rationale for my action.

If you can accept it, I shall agree to write "I despise Kerry" 200 times on the blackboard! I believe however it is now moot since GWB kicked Kerry's butt real good!

I had also responded to your insinuations against Rush and O'Reilly thus: There are no charges against these two, and at least in this country they are innocent until proven guilty. Perhaps it is political vendetta for their success as the circulation and viewership of the Old Media (NYT< WP>CBS.>NBC>CNN>MSNBC) is on the slide and Rush and O'Reilly are cleaning their clock! We have been fed fabricated pablum for too long by the Old Media and Rush and O'Reilly are a breath of fresh air and a dose of reality!

Lies of Moore--just listen to Mayor Ed Koch of New York and Sen. Zell Miller, both Democrats. Are they credible? Both have declared him a liar! Or view FAHRENHYPE 9/11 UNRAVELLING THE TRUTH ABOUT MICHAEL MOORE'S FAHRENHEIT 9/11! I do hope you keep up with the news regarding
the others...

I trust we can agree to disagree without being disagreaable--at least in the future!

Regards.

Chris

It is possible that in the heat of rhetorical battle we express ourselves
more vigorously than we intend to. My remarks were directed more at the
opposition forces in general rather than specifically to Mr. Tariq although
it might appear otherwise.

When you tell me specifically to move to Michigan and crawl in the hole that Saddam
was hiding in, how can it be directed to "opposition forces in general"?

In case your memory is weak, as is the case with most who supported the war in Iraq,
your two posts are reproduced below

On Wed, Nov 3 you wrote:
Why don't you crawl into the hole Saddam vacated?

On Thurs, Nov 4 you wrote:
"Tariq" should go to Michigan to vote with others of his ilk for Kerry

Once again, how can these messages be construed as "general" when they are clearly
specific?

I would be the first to extend an apology to Mr
Tariq if he took offence. I have written separately to him explaining the
rationale.

I have not received any personal mail from you. Perhaps you forgot to write it.

Your apology will be accepted only and only if you promise to write 100 times on the
blackboard, "I love John Kerry"

But suffice it to say that this president has been villified
enough by the lies of Michael Moore, Howard Dean, Terry McCauliffe etc..

Please tell us what "lies" did Michael Moore, Howard Dean etc make?

-Tariq
