Re: Frederick Noronha's and Eddie Fernandes' of Nov 17 on the subject It is gratifying that there is someone out there like Frederick Noronha who is interested in low cost air travel on Goa's domestic sectors. While Air Deccan is constantly mentioned no one has talked about apex fares on the major carriers. Today I learned in a casual encounter that Indian Airlines may be the only one to offer Apex fares into/out of Goa. Jet charges full fares. Perhaps someone can fill us in on Sahara. It is interesting that there is always acute interest in international fares for Goans. In Eddie Fernandes' posting there is even a paean to local efforts made 6 years ago to enable Goans to avail of low cost charter fares. These are said to be bearing fruit now. When will similar efforts (if any) be made on behalf of low cost domestic air travel? Judging by Jet's stance, the only hope for a reduction in air fares will probably lie in freedom of civilian air traffic to and from Dabolim. Is someone belling the cat?
