Chris, Allow me to interject. There is more than mere subtlety in the standard that you point out. Bigot as in hypocrite -- is a being devoted - obstinately and intolerantly to ones CREED. Websters will confirm when referenced again. I am sure we have at least a couple of folks here who have traversed the labyrinths of Philology. The catch here is CREED, unless one presumes "beliefs and IDEAS" to be synonomous with "creed". Now credo is a whole other thing -- as in professed opinions. Credulity, credulous will present other other enlightening possibilities.
