Avelino, Don't leave! Don't be resigned to the situation. Stay on and add your's to the voice of reason. You have made some very useful posts in the past, and probably the others will join me in looking forward to more in the future.
I think we can get ahead by:
* Ignoring flame-baits or posts meant to irritate. (Remember: one of the 11 ways to top an insult is to ignore it.)
* Making it a point to post something useful that adds value to this network at least thrice a week.
* Encouraging silent voices to post without fear.
* Supporting interesting discussions, opening up new threads of interest to a wider circle, complimenting new voices that post interesting content (not those pseudonyms who take on fake identities to fight some earlier battle), and so on...
Goanet, like other mailing lists, has a 'life cycle' in anyone's life. First: the the euphoria of finding something related to Goa so far from home. Then, the disappointment with a few posts. Later, anguish, why couldn't it be better. Finally, dropping out or adjusting our own levels of expectations.
BTW, those Goanetters who are in Goa, let's meet on Tuesday, Dec 21, 2004. Venue will be a local restuarant (TBA, to be announced) for a contributory, each-one-goes-Dutch lunch. FN
