As I promised, I am forwarding a write-up on the 'Festival of Trees'
which is a fun event as well as a fund-raising affair in our town. The
amount of money raised over this 3-day period is over US $50,000. Hope
the following long article will give the readers some ideas for their
own fund-raising -cross-pollination of ideas. While others may get into
the Christmas mood with the description of this festive celebration.
Happy Holidays!

FESTIVAL OF TREES: CHRISTMAS IN THE ADIRONDACKS
The 21st Annual Festival of Trees is sponsored by Faxton-St. Luke's
Healthcare Foundation. This year's "Christmas in the Adirondacks"
celebration will be on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, November 12-14 at
Hart's Hill Inn, 135 Clinton Street in Whitesboro. Festival hours
throughout the weekend are 10:00am-5:00pm on Friday and Saturday,
November 12 and 13; and 10:00am-5:00pm on Sunday, November 14. Admission
prices are $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for children ages 5-12 and seniors,
with children under 5 free. For ticket information, please call
(315)624-5600. Festival of Trees is an event of the Faxton-St. Luke's
Healthcare Foundation and the proceeds benefit the "Building our Future"
Capital Campaign.

The Hart's Hill Inn Ballroom becomes an enchanted forest of 60 elegantly
decorated Holiday trees, surrounded by splendid wreaths, garlands,
centerpieces, fireside baskets, and swags. There will be four specialty
trees, which are trees containing themed packages ranging in value from
$500 to over $1,000. This years tree themes are an "Artisan" tree, an
"Evening Out" tree, a "Golf" tree, and a "Dining Out" tree.

TREE PURCHASING AND BIDDING
Throughout the Festival weekend, silent bids are taken on all trees
while wreaths, centerpieces, and other decorative items are on sale.
Although the trees are up for bid throughout the weekend, a purchase
price is placed on each tree. If someone wishes to purchase the tree at
the stated price, the tree is taken out of the silent bid process.

OPENING NIGHT GALA
The weekend long celebration kicks off with the Opening Night Gala on
Thursday evening, November 11. It is a black-tie optional Gala from
6:00pm-9:00pm at Hart's Hill Inn featuring valet parking, refreshments,
an array of hot and cold hors d'oeuvres, and entertainment. The evening
is sponsored by Centrex Clinical Laboratories and Lennon's-W. B Wilcox
Jewelers, who have donated a beautiful 14k white gold bracelet
containing 16 oval multicolor sapphires, 9.5 cts, and 16 diamonds, .75
points total weight. The bracelet, valued at $3,000, will be awarded to
one lucky winner. You may purchase a key for $15 that unlocks a glass
box containing the beautiful bracelet. Tickets to the Opening Night Gala
are $50 each and may be purchased by calling (315) 624-5600.

possible for individuals of all socio-economic groups to enjoy and
