Can Sayali Bhagat win the world for India? SANYA: It is just hours before the most beautiful woman of the world will be crowned. But, Miss India Sayali Bhagat does not figure in the coveted list of the five Fast Track finalists. However, all is not lost yet. For the first time this year, the pageant invited viewers to vote for their favourite contestants by Internet, phone or mobile phone text message as 107 women competed for the crown in the finals on Saturday in this Chinese beach resort. Previously the winner was picked by a panel of judges. Votes from the viewing public were tabulated using a formula devised by the pageant that was meant to keep contestants from big countries from getting an unfair advantage. Judges were ready to step in and make the decision in case the system crashed. Pre-pageant voting was tracked online, which created added tension as the final neared, said Miss Kenya Juliet Ochieng. The five contestants already named as finalists are Miss America, a strong favourite among London-based bookies, Miss Mexico, Miss Wales, Miss Antigua and Miss Australia. They are the respective winners of the Beach Beauty, Top Model, Sports, Talent and Contestant's Own Choice portions of the contest.
