From: The Navhind Times Letter to MLAs DEAR Mr MLA Do you know why we elected you? So that you could make life easier for us. So you could give us safety, law and order, good roads, water, health care, electricity, transportation, sewage and cleanliness, education and jobs and a host of similar facilities that are promised under our Constitution. Do you remember how you offered your services to us so humbly as a worthy candidate who should be given an opportunity to represent us at the legislative assembly? Do you remember your election promises? You are now a government servant of sorts! You enjoy a salary, perks, privileges and position because we chose you! Enjoy yourself by all means but with privileges come responsibilities, salary has to be earned, paychecks mean paybacks too! So get our priorities right and in order. It would not be a bad idea to ask people from time to time what they want. Are you doing that or are you doing exactly as you want? If you are doing your duty honestly - more strength to you! If not please change — preferably for the better — seek advice from the honest citizens of your locality — not your yes-men and chamchas who keep telling you how great and wise you are and that all those who differ are jealous or have vested interests or their own secret agendas or have nothing better to do.
