I've always wanted to skirt any comment on this issue, Professor! But since you've broached it in response to a post from me, I've no choice but speak my mind. Frankly, I think it's unreasonable to expect the navy to vacate Dabolim. They've invested far too much there. A more practical solution would be to build another airport with private participation. If Kerala can do it, why not Goa? As you know, Cochin International Airport is a profitable venture in every sense.

I know this will make some people like bharati colaco froth in the mouth. According to them, the Indian Navy is an occupying force. They don't give a damn as to how the Goan soldiers and their families feel about such an epithet.

I would prefer not to engage in any further discussion on this issue.
