I think before anybody talks about "Reading Konkanni", the question that needs to be addressed is, "How many Goans speak Konkanni in their homes?" - especially overseas. I think that if you speak the language, it will be easier to read and comprehend.
As a Goan who speaks Konkanni on a daily basis, I don't find it hard to read, in Devnagari or in Roman script. I do find it easier to write in Devnagari script. We had discussed on Goanet in the past, about the spoken Konkanni v/s the written one.
I have observed that a lot of the Indians in the US with a Hindi background, converse with each other in Hindi. That is not the case always about Goans, who tend to make more use of English. So, any amount of Konkanni literature, devised with all the modern methods and gadgets maybe of little use to those who really don't have the basics of Konkanni. All of us have picked up the language, more by listening to it than reading it.
