Hi Jerry, Like it or not, if Goa's going to have a 4-Lane Highway, Pollem will have its fair share! Pollem, in Canacona happens to be the southernmost vaddo/wada in Goa through which the present national highway NH-17 passes through. The government plans to upgrade this highway from 2-lane to 4-lane. Pollem is also where we have the check post before crossing into Karnataka. Pollem is a tiny 'not-so-famous' hamlet because it hardly has any 'touristic' interests. It's more popularly known by Karwaris who hop across the border for a quick drink and the many bars that have come up in Pollem due to the price differences of alcohol in Goa and Karnataka. The next time you search for a place, don't ask Lonely Planet, ask a local. :-) Clinton.. > Hello Goanetters > Where is this place Pollem?
