Dear netters, An important correction needs to be made to my posting yesterday. The Assistant Director of Education [ ADEI] of Tiswadi has actually issued a forwarding letter enclosing the now infamous VCD on GOA FREEDOM STRUGGLE. The said letter bearing N0.ADEI/Tisw/V.Cd/d2004/493 dated 17.12.2004 directs the school Headmaster/Headmistress to show the VCD"in your school,preferably on or before 19th of December 2004, thereafter a compliance report about the[viewing of the] above CD may be sent to this office to enable [it] to send the same to the Directorate of Education." Interestingly, a copy of the letter is endorsed to "The Deputy Director of Education [Vocational]", a post currently held by the Right Reverend Shri Anil Pawar, Auxillary Patriach to the Minister of Education, Shri Manohar Parrikar. 18 and 19 December,2004 were holidays [being Saturday and Sunday], so no queries could be raised by the schools about the VCD. Theirs was not to question why; theirs was but to do and comply. Hats off to the brave Headmasters and Headmistresses who refused to buckle down after previewing. The more gullible among them were redfaced on Sunday morning after screening part of the VCD to their students. And I am not speaking of DSE schools alone. Viva Goa.
