Goanetters getting together was a rich experience indeed for me this second successive year. The last being at the KA (Kala Academy) when meeting Herman Carneiro, having a piece of a Rene's birthday cake and meeting and connecting faces to all the familiar goanetter was an experience indeed. I must admit that I was surprised to find a familiar face when I entered the Clube Vasco da Gama, today. Didn't know it was a goanetter, though we had brushed shoulders before. Margaret Mascarenhas? I couldn't have been so daft? Then there was VM, who we untimately found out was Vivek Menezes. And to think that he has now settled down in Goa makes all the difference, Whow, and shortly to make his presence felt in Divar, where all Menezes (most) must ultimately love to be. And it was no surprise that he is related to George de Menezes. Then there was Eugine Correia, with whom I loved to spar a little, the goanet bouncer. Bosco D'Mello, all the way from Toronto, young Constantino from Lisbon/Verna, good ole niece of Colin Powell, Ms. Melinda Powell from Davorlim, who knew my brother. What a small world!. Then there was Christine, her brother and mom all the way from Sydney. The writer Silvano Barbosa from Toronto who released his book, and all the wonderful guys and gals filling the normally empty lounge of the Clube Vasco da Gama to the capacity. And then there was Rico, the host, the indomitable Cecil with his punch lines, Miguel Braganza who shared with us his undivided opinion about the VCD by the Education Department being a real cruel RSS's plant on Goa's Liberation. As Cecil put it, there were more digital cameras in the lounge per sq. meter than people. Then there was Tony Correia Afonso & his Mrs., the gender puzzle Vivian D'Souza from Soccorro, Heta Pandit et al. It serves me right to rely on my memory to remember the names. I now realise that the RAM has lost its power. I should have written them down in my diary. And last but not least, there was Joel D'Souza and his young son to do all the reporting, that I will have missed out. All in all, it was a wonderful experience indeed. And if I am right Rico will see to it that the next meet will be at the goanetter's own little den tucked away somewhere in Panjim so that those of us who are around can poke out noses in and out at leisure.
