US transport company pulls out of Iraq
A large American transport company has become the first contractor to pull out of Iraq because of the continuing violence.
US officials say Contrack International has cancelled a $500 million project to build roads, bridges, airport facilities and railways in Iraq and staff have already left the country.
Instability and the anti-US insurgency have delayed a $25 billion, US-funded rebuilding program and forced more money to be diverted toward security.
