Hi goanetters,
Sorry did not have enough time to thank Frederic Noronha, Margaret Mascarenhas and all goanetters who graced the occasion for the release of my novel "The Sixth Night".
I won't take any other names, but I thank each and everyone present there and others in spirit. It was my pleasure meeting everyone in person. Sorry I disappointed you all by being very nervous. I am not a very public person, rokddi bhirant eta( I think my primary school teacher put that fear in me).
Anyway, dista toshem nasta, don't go by my looks, read what's in my novel and make your own judgement.
Thanks Cecil, Joel and Vince Andrade and someone else (forget the name) for the kind words and support and also to everyone for your encouragement and support.
Special thanks to all the journalists present and for publishing the press realease and photo on Goamantak Times, Navhind Times and Herald. Also thanks to GoaPlus for carrying my interview on the local TV. You guys make me feel like I am a star. So now I can say I was on TV and papers (ok more than 5000 copies sold?). The last time I saw my name was when I won second prize in Poetry competion by Konkani Bhasha Mandal way back in 1968, behind Olivinho Gomes who got the first prize. Why didnt' you guys put ads like that "Babush Monserrati" for me ('cause I am not a politician? it figures. Amkodde ani kitem assam re, bhoje?)
Anyway it is nice to be in Goa and enjoying the good times. People are nice, can spend dollars in rupees and can have 33 times the fun.(How can you lose?)
Only hope that stupid cholesterol doesn't show up and spoil the fun
Wishing everyone Merry Xmas (or Happy Xmas as some say in Goa, ok Fepi Xmas like my mom used to say, whom I visited twice at St. Inez cemetery)
All in all a great and busy time in Goa
Merry Xmas everyone
Life is short, enjoy it, the way Goans do!
Will write a review soon on "Alishaa", the Konkani movie running in INOX presently, which I saw yesterday.
